I how the heck do you get access to change the park lights..??
There is very little room behind the headlight to get access to anything..

If I have to pull the headlight out to do it then how the hell do I do that ??

There is plenty of room for the headlight to fit through the hoops.. I like the fact that the main headlight can be replaced without removal.. Unlike my Magna which required the headlight to be removed or a pair of chopsticks and the skills of Mr Miyagi

Which hoop would that be?

If you're referring to a hoop on a bullbar, remember, the grille has to come off before the headlight can be removed, so anything that sits in front of the grille prevents removal of the headlamp.

Let me put it this way - it's not my car, I don't need to change the globes. Your other thread says it's an ECB Big Tube bar so...

Have fun trying.

Ok.. I got the top grill plugs out... what is the next step.... Is the grille held in with Clips ???

Push in clips, I think its two under each head light and three under the grill

Five friction clips - one in the center and two under each headlight, including one at the very end on each side - you can pull it free with just your fingers but you risk breaking the plastic strip that runs below the headlight, what I do is thread a strip of cloth around the plastic strip and position it so the pulling force is as close to the clip as possible.

Maybe, maybe not - Magnat's build thread says he ordered an ECB big tube bar.

To be honest, I don't have a bullbar and I've never tried removing the grille with one in place, but having removed the grille several times whilst "mocking up" a cardboard template (it looks a lot like the JML bumper), I know how it comes off, and whilst it may be possible to get it off with a hoop infront of it, it's not going to be that easy.

Fordem the good thing about the bar is there is a good 2 inches between the bar and the grill.. the guy who fitted my bar realised the whole front end had to come out to do the lights as he had to remove the headlights to install the wiring for the LED's in the bar.. So she should be OK.. Its just I didnt want to go pulling away at the bar if there was something that had to be un screwed first..
I am a tad ham fisted when I use brute force but she should come out and go back in fine now I know that a little bit of force is required to remove it..

Ummm - you don't have to remove the headlights to hook up LED park lights & indicators - at least I don't - open the bonnet and look at the back of the headlight, there should be a plastic fin projecting back with the connector clipped to it. The most difficult part will be fishing the cable in, and a wire coat hanger takes care of that.

While changing the drivers side CV last night I noticed there is perfectly clear access to the park & indicator bulbs from within the wheel wells once you remove the front inner guard liner (I'm yet to refit my liners, hence why it was obvious).

Should be a much quicker/easier solution for people with bullbars rather than having to take barwork/spotlights/grills/headlights etc off.

I changed the dodgey parker bulb(s) last night...
There is plenty of room between the bar and the grill and it popped out nicely..
The only real bother I had was getting the UHF aerial wire out of the grille so I could remove it..

Did you actually remove the bulb? I had a look and I don't see me getting my hand through that space.

Sure did (as I had a blown park bulb I needed to fix anyway), heaps of room to get at both. Guess it would depend on what bumper/bullbar you've got, but with the JML bars there is easy access.

I've got the ECB bullbar on mine, and i can JUST squeeze the grill out without removing the bar.
You'll need to remove the grill to access the screws that hold the headlight assembly in. You can then remove the headlight without removing the bar.

Note - this also depends on how the bar was installed, as the brackets do have something like 10-20mm of adjustment in them, mine are adjusted full out.
Goodluck!

Post subject:  Re: Park lights XL-7/GV

Nah mine is about 40-50mm away from the grill.. I think since they had to wire up the lights in the bar they did that after the Installation of the bar or during so there is ALOT of room for the bar to be mounted..
Its not dead flush up against the car..
