I got a 1990 sierra and very time I start it,the motor just stops running.like it won't idle it just dies.

Carby problems is most likely
Dirty fuel system.
Fuel pump old and blocking carby jets.
Idle jet is small and prone to blocking.

Clean entire fuel system, including fuel tank.
Fit a new fuel filter.
Fit an extra filter after pump, just before the carby.
New fuel pump is also wise

Id just spray the crap out of the carby with carby cleaner.

And running fuel cleaner in your petrol can help
