So im trying to wire up a fuckin led bar.

Apparently theres a shitload of ways to do it on Auszookers. But none of them work.

aaaand now the headlight i was using as a trigger has a faint orange glow with no extra stuff hooked up..

Can anyone give me some straight answers?

Tried swapping the wires around on the light bar & have the relay & feed off the headlight wired up as per the other 1,00,000 threads

Ive tried a handful of combos from the threads. All of them dont work in different ways.
The closest i got was it came on with low/high but wouldnt turn off unless you got light off.


But globe still glowing faint.

I've always wired it as per want33s post in that good tech thread & never had a drama, pretty much spells it out without having to worry about diagrams.

Thats the one that worked the least.

Currently i have it working other than it not turning off when high beams turn off.
30 battery +ve
87 light
86 to ground on plug with an inline switch
85 to drive on plug.

third or fourth fuse from the left, top row is blown
dont test them with a test light, remove and look at it

The good tech method is spot on, I know it is cause the gazillion headlight looms I make are wired like that (and even the high beam feed for the relay is wired the same) and exactly 100% of them work

The good tech drawing or the text/quote. Theyre different from my perspective.

I can get it working as it should other than the light bar staying on unless i go back to parkers or flick the switch.

The relay seems to stick..

Turn highbeams off and its a few seconds delayed to turn off. Or if i tap it it goes off.

"ground" on your diagram is actually 12V and is common to both bulbs. Why you got it connected to drive if the high-beams are actually pass?

If you have it connected up that way in your diagram it should work but I would connect the in cab switch to another 12V source to avoid issues with back feeding and other stuff through the headlight

Replaced all the fuses and the headlight globes and it works by DMAC's diagram. Sweet.

For future searching peoples reference, thats whats written on the standard headlight plugs

Automotive relays have a diagram printed on them very simliar to the above, so just gotta read the diagram, and then connect the numbers.
