Cable clutch - must be a real zook..... any chance you drove through some muddy water and its got into the sleeve or possibly pooed up the pivot pin on the gear box or maybe in the firewall rubber. My guess is its in the cable sleeve though

Its a wt sierra ,Well I went through menai and a lot of clay n mud at Appin but if u mean the sleeve thing that has ripples in it I realised that it was torn but I didn't think it was anything so u think that could be a cause

My small view is the clutch cable sleeve. eg the sleeve that goes over the cable - the 3 odd ft between your gearbox and your left foot. BUT look at it like this, it's a piece of wire sliding in a sleeve, grit or cow shit etc in between anything that would stop it sliding freely will poke it. Pardon my french but you get the idea

Sierras aren't known for trashing cables the way vitaras are.

Moe, it might be the thrust bearing jamming up because here's watermud/grit in the bell-housing. A new clutch cable won't hurt, but don't be too surprised if it doesn't make the problem go away.

If the problem persists once a new cable has gone in, it's time to pull the gearbox and replace the thrust bearing, along with clean/grease the spigot it runs on.

Unfortunately running in mud does this sort of thing, along with starters, alternators and seals.

I hope you mean alternator belt
Check that the outer casing hasn't split where the belt has been rubbing.
