| Post subject: | newbie advice. |
Hi all, i bought a WT tintop a couple of weeks ago, and have been lurking here for a while. At the moment shes pretty much a stockie, only with a weber and extractors. I plan to gradually do a lift (stock springs have sagged quite a bit.), decent muddies and transfer gears. Possibly down the track a g16 or something, but not for a while. First off, what would be the best order? Obviously gears before big tyres, but would it be better to do the lift before or after? I would assume for 31's the 5.14 gears would be the best for a mix of off road stuff and on road driving. I have a couple of other cars, but it would be driven all around the place. I got an OME 40mm lift priced up and that was around the $1100 mark supplied. Would this actually be worth the extra $500ish over an ebay kit? I realise that its would be better quality, but for close to twice the price, is it worth it? Think thats about it, Chears |

Lift then gears then tyres. ARB OME +40mm springs are $110 each at my local ARB store. You can buy decent hilux/commo shocks on special at Supercrap for under $100. |
