Hi all, The instrument cluster in my 95 Vitara (g16a) has given up the ghost. I have picked up a replacement out of a 91 model that I was hoping to do a straight swap with but have noticed a few minor differences. The original panel has a 'check engine' light where as the earlier model doesn't and also some of the wiring on the back side of the unit appears to be a little different. Just wondering if any can tell me if this is anything to worry about? Also, being new to the Suzuki family, I am wondering if there is a trick to getting the gear knob off? Does it just screw off or is there something that i am missing, either way I feel a bit stupid asking Any way, any advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers |

Gear lever knob unscrews off, 4wd lever has a small screw in the back of it. Is your motor injected? You might be better off tracking down a cluster from a later model |

The 'check engine' light is for injected engines, it's not needed for carby motors. |

Ok, I might roll with it then and see how she goes - cheers. On another note Scrawn, i am thinking of putting a small suspension lift under my rig. I have heard that you can achieve about 50mm of lift using springs and shocks from other makes and models. You are obviously a local on AZ, any chance you could point me in the right direction off a good thread to read on doing this? Thanks for your help. |
