Madza started to work with suzuki on making the V6 but all I have read on the reliable interweb is they parted ways early on and the engines are very different . Does anyone know if the gearbox pattern is the same ? Cheers |

I had a look into this a while ago when I first read that it was codeveloped. The sensor and externals of the engine are very different. The kf/kl series of engines were all used in fwd so there's a lot to change. I read a build of a kl-ze and it was a very messy conversion moving all the fwd mount etc. if the bell housing isn't identical the pattern of a mazda FE block might be the same and then you could use an AW4 and bellhousing out of a kia sportage but wiring could be a nightmare. I think all the rwd mazda gearboxes will be too long depending on what it's going into. |

Which engine was used in the Bongo? that had a 2.5 V6 which was RWD. |

I'm pretty sure it was unique to the bongo. Wiki says its an RF-V engine. From what I could find they are quite rare. |
