As per the title. I'v searched high an low on this topic, can not find nothing. I know they Calmini suspension lift kits are made for the 1600 vitz but i would like too know if the front control arms from the 3inch lift kit will fit my 2L V6 SV with no mods needed ? If any ones fitted the Calmini control arms to there/a SV could you shear your experience's with me please, maybe even a pic or two aswell... Cheers |

The control arms will fit. You'll need to buy some 1.6L ball joints, as the SV runs joints cast into the arms. The problem with the calmini kit in the SV is that the diff drop brackets don't line up ( wider chassis ) |

The problem with the calmini kit in the SV is that the diff drop brackets don't line up ( wider chassis ) Thanks Fatzook, that helps heeps. Its cool if the diff drop brackets don't line up as i'm getting some from bitz4vitz an i'm only wanting to get the front control arms separate from Calmini to adjust my camber after a 3.5 to 4inch sus lift up front. i'v tryed camber adjusting bolt, an longer (fts) struts with elongated bolt hole to allow for camber adjustment with no success.. Is it true the control arms make the track width wider ? an also brings the front wheels forward a bit to prevent the bigger tyres from rubbing on the wheel arch close the the front doors ? |

AFAIK they don't. There is a mob in the states that makes a kit that DOES.... Altered Ego, but the kit is not cheap. |

the do correct your wheel track after lift somewhat & i think there is a small amount of added caster, but not much. good luck getting calmini to sell you just the arms. |

True that, but more good luck getting calmini to sell you anything at all! I've been waiting almost 4 months for my kit and still nothing |

Cheers Chairman, We're assuming that the SV model is the same as the Sidekick Sport over here. We are actually just getting ready to tear into a 97 model. From what customers have told us, and our preliminary measurements, it looks like just the diff relocation brakets are different. We should have something done in the next couple of weeks regarding that appilcation. The "Sport" model over here was available 96-98 only in 4door, had a 1.8L engine, and is wider than stock. We're sure it will be the same. We should have a complete kit price up on the site soon. CALMINI |

His Dad Eddie founded the company and was a good guy. He's trying to pick up the pieces and run with it. You don't need to be capping on his name here. We're behind on 3" kits right now because we're just busy. The reason we don't sell a la carte is because when we're sending something halfway around the world to someone who may not speak our language, we just don't want any problems with a kit not being complete. Its true for a 1.6, I don't know what it does on an SV, I did hear that the diesel arms and the SV arms aren't the same so there are differences. There are a couple of people who have done this conversion and have only modified the diff drop brackets, an Australian guy called CJ did this years ago (around 2005 maybe) he wrote it up on Zukiworld.com but their search engine has never been much use. |

Not that i have ever bought anything from them as of yet, however i have messaged them on numorists accounts for advise on there kits an kit parts also to buying there kits from them minus a few parts. They have always answered back promptly on all occasion an with honest advise even if it ment there advise would not encourage the purchase of a sertian part for my model 4wd |

Hey atari do you have the Calmini 3" lift kit control arms on your SV620 ? By added camber do you mean + or - camber added ? Do these control arms on your SV relocate the hub ball joint forward (closer to the front of the car if that makes sence ?) more than standard intern bringing your hub ass forward and the front rims an tyre's forward or is the just a some myth i'v made up in my head cause it sounds good ?

I looked at Calmini front arms (I'm 1.6), but decided on caster correction bushed from Bits4Vits instead. Another choice to look at. |

CALMINI good, Eddie was a fuckwit wouldn't recommend dealing with 3wdUSA to anyone & i've sung the same tune for the last 7+ years. personally i'd rather deal direct with any supplier rather than paying a middle man after my experience with Fraud Wheel Drive USA & his inflated prices, shitty attitude & poor service, i was forced to deal with them as back then you would only sell outside of the US via your distributors, i had to pre order my kit & pay a deposit & wait 3+ months for him to get it to me. hell he didn't even know that the idler arm brace was LHD only... you'd think that a distributor would know the products that he sells? (WAY TOO MUCH CAMBER) ![]() ![]() caster, is angle of the strut & effects the position of the wheel in the arch & i believe there is a little bit of caster correction built into the arms but old mate calmini can confirm that. i still had to clearance the back side of the wheel arch with 31x10.5r15 KM2's on a -15 15x7 steel rim. before it made love to the hammer & grinder ![]() after it made love to the hammer & grinder ![]() Calmini wrote: We're assuming that the SV model is the same as the Sidekick Sport over here. CALMINI yeah the SV's are the Sidekick Sport that you guys got with the J18a, over here we got the SV420 = 2.0l J20a 4cyliner SWB & the SV620 = 2.0l H20a V6 LWB. there are quire a few little differences, wider wheel track, different diff ratio's & the wider chassis, the engine crossmember is a different profile where the pinion mount on the front diff locates etc etc. can you test fit up your strut eliminator kit to the sport chassis while you're there? i'm pretty sure it would work but want to confirm it, the new top shock mount will not allow the factory strut brace to be refitted. a custom strut brace would need to be fabricated either by bolting on to the existing mounts or reworking the new shock mount to include an option for a bolt in strut brace. |
