Hi all,
starting to have issues with the starter motor in my SV40, sounds like its not disengaging properly so squeals badly right after its cranked the engine over. Would it be better to buy a new one or get it reconditioned? or possibly second hand, as there are a few on ebay that are cheaper than a new one and come with 1 year warranty, but don't want to be stuck with the same issue again. Thanks

Was thinking the same thing, just want to replace it and not worry. Is it still fine to use it with it not disengaging properly i.e no long term damage to the ring gear? It starts the car fine just some squealling I want to head up to the Watagans on Saturday
