I am away from my Jimny and need to know 2 things:
1. What is the width of the bonnet?
2. Is the 2013 bonnet a direct fit for a 2000 model? (my answer is no)

Had a mate that said it was possible and I said it won't fit due to the change in shape with the new model.
I had an idea for my bonnet (no, its not a scoop) but need to know the bonnet width.

front guards & grill are different enough that it wont line up without swapping the whole front clip. zukenutter wrote: The scoop is not open at all, totally blanked by plastic The entire front clip is different, but inner guards and firewall backward is the same. The new Jimny clip is too bulbous for my liking but the separate grill is cool. The bumper would bolt straight onto mine I think but wouldn't trim-up very nicely. Brackets have been added to support the taller guards and bonnet

I reckon it'd be possible to fit the newer bonnet to the older version, but you're gunna need that front grill too

and front guards have a look at all the panel work on the corner above the headlight on the new shape compared to the old shape. also shown here, there is a riser section for the bolt holes & a plastic trim panel to fill the gap from the inner guards to the new outer guard, without the guards the bonnet would be sitting proud from everything else.

You'd be pretty hard pressed to wet them unless you were sitting still in the water... There's a cover plate over them with a seal under it. Not saying its impossible but not easy either.

Oh and FYI... I don't have any intentions currently to put one in... I have thought about it though to stop everything melting inside the engine bay.

which jimny model do you want the width measurements? Mine is pre-facelift.
corner to corner closest to the windscreen = 1290mm exactly
where the bonnet bends to go down to the bumper = 1190mm
