I recently purchased a stock-standard GV H25A V6, 2000 model LWB (ie. 5 door). I'm readying it for a 6-8 week off-road trip. I'll need heavier and taller springs and struts/shocks to suit!

I also have a 1996 5 door Vitara (upgraded from H20A to H25A) that will otherwise be idle while I'm away. It was set up by a previous owner, front and rear, with what looks like enough extra height for what I want to do in the 2000 model.

My question is, although the wishbones are different between the models, can I swap springs and struts between the 1996 and 2000 model and expect to get the same ride height?

If they are interchangeable then that will solve my immediate problem., but if not, then where should I look for a spring/strut/shock solution I can buy (in Sydney) off-the-shelf to install myself THIS WEEK - I'm thinking an extra 25-40mm height and an extra 200-250kg load capability would do?

front springs & struts will swap over, not sure about getting the same ride height though as the GV is heavier.

Dobinsons will have an off the shelf solution, with various spring weights to suit.
