Hi All,

I have grafted the Baleno Tacho into my cluster and I'm trying to work out which wire from the sensor does what.

Image

Anyone know what the wires are for I was thinking

Pink/black - earth
Green/red - Tacho feed
White/red - ignition

Cheers Aaron

Hi all I was thinking if I wire it up and put it in some boiling water will that be another heat to move the Tacho to see if the wiring is correct?

Cannot run the engine to operating temp waiting for a new radiator

At least one of those wires should go to the ecu.

Cheers Matt.

Found this in pj zooks diagram

THW is the ECU input for the sensor so...

Light Green/red - to ECU (still part of the loom as I never cut that one away)

Pink/black - Tacho Feed

Just White/Red left.. Anyone know what this would be?

Cheers Aaron

LG/R is the coolant sensor input to the ECU
G/R is the sensor ground
P/B is the output to the coolant temperature gauge in the dash.

Why would the coolant temperature sensor feed the tacho, do you mean the gauge??

Thanks Rhino,

Yes sorry I was referring to the gauge.

The only wire left is white/red.

I receive my new radiator tonight so ill run it and try a couple of combinations

Well I'm an idiot.. It was not white and red it is light green & red (sorry rhino) when I took the photo the flash was used.

Anyway I hooked the feed to the pink black and all it did was send the needle to the very top.

I had the ignition on (engine off) and the engine was hot as I ran it for 10 minutes prior.

Light green /red runs back to the ECU.

Green/red is still part of the loom so not sure if this has a ground so I might wire this up and see if it makes a difference

Any other thoughts?

Cheers
Aaron

Green/red should go back to the ECU, it shouldn't be grounded locally.

Hey guys still having no luck.

When ever I connect the pink black wire to the gauge it just send the needle to the top.

Might just run a separate gauge for now.

Cheers for the help

Is the guage installed in the correct position?

One of the "Good Tech" G16 installs mentions a similar problem, the guage was in upside down.

Hi bud thanks for that found the thread.

I tried each combination of wires but no luck.

Quick question if I remove the Baleno sensor from the motor will that cause any issues?
