So in my 89 Sierra the speedo doesnt work, has been so for a while.
being a newbie to the practical side of mechanical work (have done my reading) its things like this i need help with. So i found the speedo cable, and on the transfer case end it is wobbly and i can jiggle it around, like its not sitting correctly.

Could be a couple of things.

My last cable stretched somehow and the pin was no longer sitting in the back of the speedo.

Your cable could be damaged and no longer spinning or it could simply be disconnected behing your cluster. Just pop it out and have a look only 4 screws.

Easy to replace and a new one from ebay is cheap.

Just undo one bolt and its just a matter of threading it back under the body and into the cab and through the dash.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aaron
