Hi everyone I was just thinking about how I am going to get my speedo to read right with 31s and a 4.9:1 because as far as I know when I install the g16b baleno engine the ecm needs to know the ground speed for the fuel efficiency thing and how will I get it all to read right to get good fuel economy out of the engine.

no one really bothers. i think you can get a gear driven speedo correction box made but seems like a lot of effort. my baleno motor ran fine with no speed correction and similar gearing to yours

The baleno ECM doesn't need to know the speed accurately, only that that car is in motion.
Steve.

Sweet thats pretty good How did you guys make your speedo read half way right because as far as I know the speedo cable is driven by the output shaft of the transfer case
Or am I better off just using a gps

no one bothers changing it.
just check it against a gps and remember where different speeds are.
