Is there any tricks to remove the flywheel on a g13ba? I can't get a socket on the bolts and an open end spanner just slips off! |

Just having a look at a motor sitting outside, looks straight forward Whats stopping you from getting a socket on?? Is the motor still in the car? Whats in the way? |

If its not in the car a rattlegun or impact driver would work (if its a stuck bolt problem), just don't snap the bolt.. |

Rough gets the job done In all seriousness, I find using impact on tight bolts does less damage. If it ruins them when they come out I replace. Doesn't happen often though. |

They're not. But as I stated there's no room.

Mine had plenty of room. I don't know what to do to tell the truth. If it were me I'd probably be reaching for a chisel and hammer.... and breaking something. |

I think I have another flywheel sourced. I only need it for the twin cam swap. |

I've never had a problem. I've always used a rattle gun, or a breaker bar with a screw driver jamming the flywheel so it doesn't move. In your case you may want to 1) spray WD on it, swear at it and let it sit for a few mins 2) use a thin walled socket, but I've always used an impact socket set, So basically, your weird. :/ Don't use an open end spanner, you'll fuck it and make the job harder than it has to be. |

Sorry for the delay Dono.. I checked mine and my 17mm socket fits fine. I measured from bolt centre to bolt centre and its around 26mm, I can only think that yours are closer together for some strange reason, or your sockets are fucking massive?? Whats the distance between your bolt centres? |

What type of socket are you using? The 12 point ones seem to have a thinner wall. |

Tried both and 1/4 inch. The bearing is sitting out. All good it's sorted now. Thanks for everyone's input. |
