Welded, mini spool, spartan, lock right, Detroit, chinasoooooog, air locker, genuine air locker... It's all a matter of budget and compromise. I've been perfectly happy with a welded diff, spool, and an air locker- in different applications. You'll find someone who has also been perfectly happy with every aftermarket item ever made.
In my opinion it's all about budget and use. The more you drive your car on road, the more thou want an air locker.

Steve. Unhappy with the auto lockers Steve? Agree that air locker is the best idea for road driven. Auto lockers are doable but it really makes it less fun.

I don't reckon they work that well in a light. SWB car. The tail wags the dog, so to speak.
I've driven them, I wouldn't spend my money on one from my experience with them.

are you talking about a rear diff or a front one?
if rear then yes, they will fit into a coily diff.
if front, see above no there are no lockers for a front coily diff

anyone know why the rd87 air locker for an 8 bolt Jimny front diff won't fit on the front of a coily?

Because like 95% of the parts on a coiler, the front diff is unique to the coil sierra and not interchangeable with a jimny.
