| Post subject: | Vitara rear lockright - info please |
Hey all, Looking at buying a lock right 1510 or 1512 for the back of my vit. -Ive been told the 1510 is the same other than crosspins so would use my stock pin.. -Does the centre block have to be modified/shaved? Ive heard it does.. If so is this for 1510 only or for 1512 as well? -And i plan on putting it in a spare diff from a 94 manual lwb vit with lower kms, will this diff suit my 89 manual swb vit as far as ratios and installation? Id like to save the coin and grab the sierra lockright but if its gonna be a pain il just get the 1512 Cheers |

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19108 I put a 1512 in and had no issues. (I only just found that thread, which means I could have saved some money) I did play with the shims to get it snug, but moving freely. I believe the block shaving issue, is when the block is used in a vit 2 pin centre, and a 1510/1512 is used. Ratios will be the same 5.12 |

I have the 1510 in the back of one of mine. according to the link in the post above they are the same. I know that the 1510 come with different cross pins to what is in the vit. the vit cross pins have a roll pin in them where the ones you get with the 1510 don't. be warned that when you knock the roll pins out of the cross pins most of mine come out in pieces. if that makes any sense. |
