Hi there folks!! looking to remove the filler plugs on a NT Sierra, transfer case and gearbox. Something like a 24mm fits loosely, 23mm doesn't quite slip over. They aren't a true hex fitting because the corners are rounded and I'm pretty sure I can't hang off the breaker bar without buggerng up plug for any further attempts to remove it.. Is there an imperial socket that fits better or is it a special tool?? Thanks And yes I've searched. Found some cool info but none that answer my question. |

NT's run proper plugs not those stupid ones like a WT with the 10mm square drive thing. |

Thanks Blkfxx!! That sits squarely between the 23 and 24... Thanks also coily96, unfort it's not the square drive like later models.. And cheers JrZook!! Was hoping not to resort to that!! But might have to depending on how the 15/16th goes Cheers all!! |

Oh righto!! I know my WT is all 10mm square drive. This one has hex nut of 17 or 19mm on the diffs and a bigger one for the TF and gearbox.. I will have to check the other NT, Ugly Bob, and see what he's sporting. Perhaps someone's swapped them at some stage. Haven't tried the 15/16th socket yet, not even sure if I have one! |

Its worth buying a set of single hex sockets for jobs like this |

Rather than the double hex normal ones?? Do they work better?? Well clearly yes if your suggesting it.. Might pick up a hex socket 15/16 and give it another go |

There are sockets made for slightly mounted bolts. My set is made by metrinch there is no bolt they won't grip! Worth looking for them or an equivelant |
