Hey G'day guys been having an issue with my g16a all week running crazy rich struggling to idle and hard surge as I accelerate, but seems to run fine once the throttle is opened finally got a chance to have a look at it today pulled my spark plugs all where fouled especially 3&4. My old man told me to check my needle and seat make sure there is debris in there due to the fact my fuel pump failed a few weeks ago! Figured whilst I was in there I'd check my float level and after a alot of searching still can't find the standard level if anyone knows that would be great as I have never really worked with a carby before any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated Cheers Patrick |

Hey Patrick, Played with these a few times myself. Firstly make sure you understand how the things operate. Secondly watch a few videos and read a few articles on the Aisan carb (common on older small 4 cylinder Toyotas and land cruisers and I think also fitted to L28 Nissans) There are several variations of the Aisan carb, but the g13 uses the same one (3b I think it is) Get the factory service manual from this site and print off the carby part: http://www.suzukiinfo.com Work on a clean bench being very careful not to lose parts such as the check ball and spring and make sure you pay attention to how the throttle/choke/secondary/accelerator pump linkage comes apart. Enjoy, from my memory it is 8mm for float height. Could be wrong, read the manual. |

^^ I believe the G16A carb is a mikuni. Its even more complicated then the aisin carbs on the g13s. Id be checking the basics first especially to see if the choke flap is retracting and isnt obtruding the throats. |

Other than that do check the needle and seat as well as the choke. It will keep flooding if the needle and seat are gone. |

Got it back on the car tonight it started so I must not have completely stuffed it haha, but now it's just drowning in fuel sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders. Think maybe I should be taking it to someone who knows what there doing.... |

Not to sure if I made a mistake or my comments haven't been approved yet but thanks heaps for your help guys! I ended up removing the choke butterfly. I got it back together . Annnnnnnnnd I think I screwed up haha it's worse! Ah well I think I'm just gonna pay some one who knows what there doing. Il take another look in the daylight to be sure I haven't missed something obvious |

Okay so in the end I picked up another carby for 85 bucks chucked it on this morning runs like a dream now |

Okay back to having issues again  since replacing the carby I have cleaned the tank, replaced fuel lines between pump and carby.N it's only flooding after I switch it off making it a pain in the arse to start but once it running and cleared it's perfect again!!! Any ideas? I did notice it leaking fuel tonight from bottom of carby could a vacum leak cause this? Any help greatly appreciated Patrick |

I haven't checked the needle and seat after speaking to a mate last night and showing him the problem he is saying needle and seat I'm just a bit unsure if pulling it apart again! Lol I wasn't aware there was a fuel cut solenoid Cheers mate |
