Hey Everyone I recently removed my rear diff from my sierra as it had a nasty clunk on take off. After taking it to a diff shop here in Adelaide the mechanic has informed me it is not worth fixing The holes in the hemisphere are elongated slightly also needs new pinion bearings And crown and pinon are worn Just wondering if its a throw away job and look for another diff (this is the path I have started to go down) or is there another that could be done to this diff to keep it going? What would others do in the situation? Cheers Simon |

If the diff shop reckons its not worth fixing then id say that's a fair indication. The elongated holes worry me a bit.... But you only need a new diff centre, which you can pickup pretty cheap 2nd hand. |

Throw it away. They're not worth much. |
