Put a jerrycan with a couple of litres in the back, drive it until it stops, pour the jerry in, drive to the servo and fill it - you'll know how far below E empty really is, and also how much the tank holds. None of the Suzukis I've owned have had a low fuel warning light and all of them have had more than 5 litres left in the tank with the needle on E - my assumption is that Suzuki compensates for the missing light by having more in the tank when the needle is on E. |

X2 I changed the fuel float in the tank the other day and the needle was on the E line and there was still at least 4 litres left when i emptied the tank. |

This is a very common problem . And if you tank hasn't been badly smashed in then is a simple but a little time consuming fix . Search the good tech section there's a write up on fixing it . viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4140 And here it is. Sorry if the link didn't work but I'm on my phone . |

Of course 42L is the stock capacity but the pickup won't be able to pickup the full amount, especially with the fuel sloshing around to the edges on corners and hills. 30L to empty is normal. I fill my Sierra at 34L which is slightly below the E on the guage. The guage sender is just a big variable resistor so the guage will be affected by any poor connection or lower voltage at the cluster. |
