Yeah, we have a fap over LWBs here. Indian guys fap over SWBs. In both cases, it's mostly just because they're rarer. LWBs drive nicer and have greater stability on hill climbs, SWBs have better ramp over and departure angles and a better turning circle. Choose what works for you. Nothing wrong with a SWB. Fatzook turned a SWB chassis into a LWB. They're just 100x50x2.5 RHS so it's relatively easy fab. It's one of those "If you have to ask, it's not for you" things. It's not that hard to find a LWB or even just a LWB chassis. |

LWB is about 300mm longer in wheelbase and 600mm longer overall than a SWB. LWB is a definite advantage for climbing, it also rides a lot smoother. More storage area is a bonus. Not many people stretch SWB's to LWB or longer as it is quite an ordeal to get approved and registered. I built a SWB and then bought a LWB body shell and bare chassis to fit all my bits onto. Check my build thread in the rigs section. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5582&hilit=snow |
