Hey fellas,

Im looking at getting some coil spacers made up, problem is when I installed my suspension (3") that was bloody hard to squeeze in.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks as to achieving more space to work with when installing coil spacers and then some bigger coils

cheers

Personally, I think the answer is in the question. Im not sure of all the details of your setup, but I'm guessing you're talking about a Vitara.

3" Springs don't really fit the front of a vitara with stock arms. That's a lot of lift, the springs don't really seat properly, and will generally prevent full compression being achieved. Adding a spring spacer on top of that will only make everything worse.

So, in short, you're having trouble fitting them because they're not supposed to fit with that setup.

There's other complications at such lift height too.

Travel on the front of a vitara is determined by the strut. With (lets say) 4" of lift, the strut will be close to fully extended at ride height. As you travel over bumps, the suspension will fully droop or "top out" the strut frequently. This is bad for ride and bad for strut life. CV joint angle will be excessive. I would expect the driver's side CV to pull out of the diff unless you have converted it to a tripod CV, and in any case, the cvs will have a very short life, especially if you use full lock and reverse. Diff drop brackets will help, but not enough.

In short, over 3" of lift is inadvisable for a vitara for a number of reasons. It's not going to make the car better in any way.
