Hey all,

Ive got a caster issue on the left hand side and the rubbers look dried and cracked.
So going to give it a shot over the chrissy break, ive got all the tools that i should need besides a press. Do you think ill need one? I dont have a vice either.

Ive got a haynes manual, but anything i should be aware of before diving in?

Thanks

Mine were a prick to get out without a press.
After markets may be different, but stockers are stuck hard.
I basically ground and drilled them out.
I put in caster correction bushes, they went in easy enough with no press.

Hey chris, just the person who i wanted to hear from. Do you think going castor correction bushes is better than std?
Did u have any procedure to follow?
Did u leave the cv in place or remove it fully from the diff?
Cheers

I could feel an improvement with mine after caster bushes.
It stopped following the road camber and was nicer to drive/more predictable at speed.
(Idler arm bush and wheel bearings also improved the steering)
I removed the arm completely, so I could work on the bench.
Tried leaving in situ, but because they were a bugger to get out, bench method won.
With correct tools I think it be possible to replace on vehicle.

Aron- ill ring them mon and see what they have. Thanks

Ill prob go std as i dont want to fit caster corrected bushed and use them to fix the prob. If i put std's in and its still out the it will prob be a bent arm or somewhere else.

Is it worth replacing the tie rods or anything else while im there?

Good time to check or replace the ball joint.
Tie rods easy enough to do as a separate job.
But I like to do as much as I can when I got the garage clothes on.
I am now fixing a rear wheel bearing that I wish I'd fixed when I fitted the locker.
