all going well in the next 2-3 weeks i'll be heading to town to collect a motor to repower my jimny. one thing i need for the conversion is a 'skinny' vitara starter motor & here in country SA chances are slim to none of locating one. can anyone advise of a 3rd party/non-oem starter that will likely have the correct dimensions ? i could order the original bosch part, but it's insanely expensive imo. thanks. |

thanks for that blk, is that just for M series motors or definitely for G series as well (guessing G series as you've got one in your sierra, just wanna double check). |

local autopro has quoted $150 for it, very happy, about the part i was most worried about being able to obtain easily. |

You can always grind a couple of mm off the side of a 1.3 sierra starter. |

i saw chris (?) try that in the green goat thread & i think he killed it, wouldn't mind having a good starter on hand to just bolt up, aiming to only have the car off the road for a couple of days all going well. |

I lightly ground down a jimny starter to fit the baleno motor. |
