ive tried cleaning the sender unit up with a wire brush
and i tried to earth out the sender unit to see if it jumps (no jump)

ne ideas guys. if you need more info just let me know. i didnt know exactly what info
to write, after all im a noobie :D

If you earth the wire out and the gauge doesn't go to hot then you have a faulty gauge or a wiring (earth) issue in the dash loom.

Hmm during use some temp gauges and sender combo may only show 20% etc.
If really hating on the vehicle it may climb to half.
And if it starts to overheat it will get hotter.

Its possible its working as it should, and you need to calibrate your eyes to whats normal.

Ever noticed the dash temp gauge has no numbers? It is not a precision measuring device - get an IR temp gun and measure the engine's coolant temp (top of the thermostat outlet is a good place) - when you know how the engine is (or is not) running, only then can you decide if the gauge is broken and needs to be fixed.

sweet ill check the thermostat ,before i try to take out the guage.

just then i unpluged the sender plug and put a piece of wire from the plug to the
battery negitive terminal. with the car on but not running, the needle did not move
but i did notice as soon as i unplugged the sender unit the fan came on.
then when i did my wire thing and notice the fan stopped or slowed right down one or the other.
im guessing that means the wiring is ok.

but anyway first thing is first , gonna check the thermostat.
thanx again guys and stick with me, im sure with your help we'll fix this sucker

want33s you maybe on the money buddy. thermostat opens and shuts like a champ.

im not sure how to check for an "earth issue" tho.
but the gauge is looking like it could be the problem

as for what you other fellas said. maybe its working fine and its my imagination
i just thought after 10mins of driving it would climb a little. but it seems to take alot longer
and doesnt go and higher that 10 to 20%

cheers for the advise again. i will check the gauge and wiring tho. better safe
than sorry
