Hello guys,
Just wondering if a H20A is a good engine in the vitaras?? Any known problems??? 2.0L V6 seems a strange size engine... What are your thoughts on them?

Gayer than a hat full of arseholes with beards covered in jizz... I have no love for my h20a, my j20a was a far better motor for the cc's, honestly it's just a shit motor for a 4wd, maybe a road car but peak power is at redline (6,500rpm & max torque is at 4000rpm) and there isn't a lot of both, 100kw, 172nm
Look at wiki for all the various specs of the j & h series motors.
h27a is what all the kids in the know are doing...

Hi, I have a '96 SV620a & just had a piston go on my H20a & am wrestling with weather to replace the engine with another h20a or spending the extra $1k to put in a H25a instead. (not that i have that in the bank anyhow)
Atari i saw yr thread (from the SWB j20a to the LWB h20a) & thort u might have some insight about doing this here in ADL. Who do i go to here?? Have only spoken to exclusive Jap so far & they quoted $1650 for a 2nd hand h20a + $900 to fit it, $2650 for a h25a & $1100 to fit. Are these prices reasonable??
My experience with cars is doing layperson stuff like oil changes & replacing indicator globes & then abusing them till they are wrecker fodder.
So far, I do bout 3-500km a week with only a few soft-road KM, with a bit of towing also, but have managed to screw up the engine in 6months!!
Also, have been considering cutting our losses & instead of replacement, trading it in for a bit newer GV w/ the h25a or 27 already in action. Any thorts?
