Between 2600 and 3000rpm, depends on tyre size and diff gears!

Yeh its got the stock wheels. The car is stock. Is it annoying to driveon the highway? And does that mean its no good on fuel on the highway.

Cheers

I get about 9.5 to 10 liters per 100ks on the flat with a manual gearbox.

Maybe you can help us a bit more Baus - it's easier for u s to help if you give us more information

Is your car automatic or manual?
What is your tachometer reading at an indicated 100km/h?
What fuel economy are you currently getting in L/100km

What have you asked Gregwatkins? Is HIS car annoying on the highway? "Annoying" is very different for different people. What does "no good" mean?

We can only help with data. (either from our experience or via calculation) "impressions" like "no good" or "annoying" aren't really helpful to you as they mean different things to different people.

On a rough guess of fuel consumption, I would have thought 10-11.5l/100km would be about right for a GV on the highway.

You have an indicative answer on revs and consumption. That's all we can really do.

Many thanks for the feedback and sorry for the crappy questions. The car im looking at is stock wheels and suspension and is manual. So what i meant by is it annoying on the highway. Since the engine is reving between 2600 to 3000rpm whilst doing about 110 - 11. Does the engine noise get unberunbearable? Cheers

I just crunched the numbers and got an approximate 2850rpm @ 100km/h

Manufacturers will always gear the car for the lowest feasible revs on the highway this is done for to reduce noise and fuel consumption.

I'd be surprised if the engine was louder than tyre and wind noise at 100 km/h

Steve.

3100rpm roughly at 110 for a manual. Never liked 5th gear seems to be just that 5th gear, wish it has a 6th. the 235 70 R16 i have drops it down to around just under 3000rpm at 110.

If you're talking about your XL-7 Gecko, they are geared lower than a GV.

I have the 05 GV with 225/75/16 and I run at around 2600rpm at 100kph and just under 3000rpm at 110kph

I had a 2002 Chevrolet GV-equivalant LWB with the 2.5 V-6 and an automatic box.

Quiet ride. plenty of power on the motorways and even with the auto-box, pretty good MPG/KPL by American standards. I even drove it across the Arizona desert on dirt roads on a holiday. It was an all around nice car to own.... Except for the fact that I had to deal with a Chevrolet Dealer for maintenance! Effin' Bastiges!

My Ford Transit Connect is bigger and noisier but it gets better MPG - 23 City, 27 Highway - than the Chevy/Vit.
