Are the vitara chassis ends the same between '89 and '94 to bolt a towbar up?

Once again, this is from the North American perspective... If I have misunderstood the teminology, I apologise.

As an former owner of both body styles ('93 Suzuki Sidekick LWB/4-door and a '96 Tracker SWB/2-door G16 engines), I would say "They take the same tow bar/trailer hitch assembly". I actually installed a bolt-on unit on the '96.

Things get weird with what we call the '96-'98 Sidekick Sport (Vitara) with the 1.8l I4 engine. It has a wider-spaced frame.

An examination of this webpage indicates that they are interchangeable:

I hope that this helps!

My 93 LWB came with a tow bar fitted that had SWB written on it.
It sat very close to the petrol tank.
Replace recently with another type that does not say either on it.
It sits very close to tank, too.

I tried to fit a LWB towbar on a SWB and it didn't fit but i've heard of a few people fitting SWB towbars onto a LWB
