Hey guys

Tried to check the interchangability of towbars on the websites but cant find a solid answer.

Will an xl7 hayman reese towbar fit a 2000 Sq625?

I'm fairly sure my OEM towbar was labelled as fitting a GV (it's fitted on my2004 XL-7).

Yeah most websites say they fit both but some have a different listing.

Just wanted to confirm before I bought one

It'l fit. I just installed an XL-7 bar to my shorty SQ420 yesterday (although that is genuine suzuki, not Hayman Reese. Some, maybe all, Hayman Reece bars have a third bolt hole that doesn't line up with any stock chassis holes. I think they must drill and insert their weird plate/nut on a piece of wire down the chassis end.)

As above, it'll fit fine. Have swapped them on numerous cars now.

The couple of heavy duty hayman reese ones I've seen bolt to the front tank guard mounting holes in addition to the normal 2 points at the back of the chassis.

That's what this genuine suzuki one is like, but the two Hayman Reese branded ones I have seen have had a third bolt hole the same distance apart as the two stock points. Just near the drain hole, but not quite. They come with a piece of threaded plate on a long section of wire to feed down the chassis rail in order for the third bolt to pick up the thread in the 'new' hole.

So yeah, watch out for that.
