Hey all,
So i need some opinions, I have a 1.3 LWB NT
For the past few years, I have been wheeling a WT SWB with lockers and chromo's. Which i have decided to be my donor car for the LWB.

What are your recomendations??

option 1 or 2
1] Use the WT diffs with the lockers/chromos and convert to NT spacing.
2] Run the WT diff centre in the NT diff with standard NT axles.

I know WT with NT spacing is the common way to go, but have people wheeled with lockers and 31's on standard NT axels before, is this your set-up? if so how does it go?

Option 1. All day. (If you can be arsed with the fab work.)

X2 option 1. Gain more clearance between tyre and leaves without running big offset wheels.

Option one is so much better in so many ways.

WT with nt spacing, does this need to be engineered?

I would say yes as you have to cut and weld te perches on the Diffs.
But if your neat i cat imagen any police or mechanics noticing that the Diffs are a little wider than standard.

I ran lockers on 30's on nt, now run my locked nt centers in wt housings with cromo front on 33's
i run positive offset wheels to reduce my track width,... stock vitara steelies... i get full lock steering with this setup

pez, did you brake any axels with the nt setup?

Jack is right.
It would technically require engineering.
You could swap your nt diffs in, if you had to go over the pits. As it would save removing the auto locker to get rwc
Wt diffs are oem and oem axles, the load ratings are sufficient, and almost no one will know or be able to tell.

Use your WT flares on the LWB to keep it looking stockish

As pezz said, running vit steel rims allows you to keep wider wheels inside the flares, have a better turning circle, and heaps kinder on bearings.
Heaps of offset and km and rear wheel bearings are 3-6 monthly.
Every set of bearings you dont need to swap saves you $100 and lots of messing around

Option 2 is flawed for many reasons
1. NT centres are lower geared so no reason to go WT centres if running NT housings
2. WT housings allow you the option of cromos
3. WT provide greater stability
4. WT allow greater leverage on the springs provide increase articulation and a softer ride
5. Mean you can run less offset and maintain tyre clearances

No, but i only wheeled it once with the front locker and about 10 times with the rear.
I removed the front untill i fitted power steering, and then re fitted the locker into my wt housing.

I drive fairly gental, and wouldnt have been to conserned about brakages on 30's
However i ďid carry a spare cv and hub
