HEY

Guys i have read about 6 posts on Protec olive drab or green camouflage paint but none seem to have what im looking for, im just wondering if you need thinners with this paint or is it just buy, whack in a gun and paint?
ill be doing a closed door job and painting all hinges and stuff the camo black. for the black ill just use a spray can but with the cab (LWB Ute) ill be using a compressor and gun. any idea on how many liters i would need roughly?

Any help would be great

Sam

Thinners if you're spraying it. IIRC instructions are on the can, if not google protec 342 and there's a pdf with all sorts of info.

FWIW a friend of mine said he used about 2l to paint his trayback defender cab. A 4l can is only $55 so I'd just grab one of those.

alright sweet ill grab a 4ltr one today, do protec sell the thinner that is appropriate for it?

I read somewhere that if you use certain thinners it can mess up because it dosent go well with the paint already on the car?

....Yet still get info from an online forum. When you leave Supercheap you'll be able to go straight to Bunnings Technical Department.

Good luck and dont stress, the protec range of 342 paint is easy stuff to paint with. Sticks on anything, just dont lay it on too thick.

so bought it all and checked out the internet to see mixing quantity's because there is nothing on the existing tins that i bought at it recons use a primer or is this not needed?
and im not sure what kind of ratio i use of thinners to paint as it just says 100 parts paint and up to 15% reducer.
here is the link to have a look.

This paint is so simple to use its not funny. no need to over think it. I used a 4L tin to paint my SWB. Preparation because the paint was ok was just rough up the old paint iwht a scotch pad. It's enamel, it'll stick to almost anything. Thin paint 10-15% with turps and spray on.

this. if you have a litre add 100-150ml thinners/turps and go for it.
