Hey guys very Noob to the zook science and I have a 1995 Sierra 1.3L and it does a 100km an hour but kind of struggles a little and I would like to go to 31/32 mud tyres and thinking it will struggle more? I have heard of reduction gears but not sure what ones I need to do go bigger tyres and anything I can do to the 1.3L to give it more power, sorry if this is always asked

Gear it , 6.5's 6.4's will be fine. If you do only beach ect, diff gears may be a better way to go. It's the only thing you can really do for getting back to your top speed.
32's can be a shitty width fir sierras , 235 85 16's are a nice sized 32 though, the bfg km2's look the goods.
I'm thinking about heading in that direction next time.
Should aim for tall an narrow with light 4wds

Thanks mate for the advice, I'll be doing bush and beach only issue is I have nice rims and they are 15's

Do you really need 31's or 32's for bush-n-beach? I'm not trying to sway your decision, but your first complaint was being able to maintain 100kph and your terrain is bush and beach, and I would suggest that big rubber might be money spent on tyres and gears that might not gain you much (or any) advantage in those circumstances.

I know I Dont need 31 or 32 but I want 32 ;) first 4x4 and want big tyres

Fair enough. Although why not 35s then? If the answer is money and no necessity for what you drive then I ask the same question: why 32s?

32 seem big but not crazy big like I Dont want to go over board lol its not money or any other reason I just think 35 will look stupid and I have seen 32 on a sierra and I liked that size, why does anyone do anything to their car? Because they like it

That's what I meant by fair enough. In that case get some gears and get some tyres, extend bumpstops and/or body lift and call it done.

Yeah I got a 2 inch body lift to install and I just didn't know what gears to get, cheers for the advice

ok firstly your away that 31s and up are illegal and will get you defected right.

for 32s 4.9 gears will be plenty low enough if your only planning beach and bush tracks

6.5s are gonna be too low unless your into rocks and hard wheeling

31's are much easier to get in a suzuki friendly tyre.

Try a 245/75r16 (30.7)
Its a nice size for a mainly beachwork zook and with the addition of a 1ltr transfer (12% lower) should maintain hwy speed ok and not fry clutches with larger rubber.
Reason i suggest the 1ltr case is once you look at the exchange rate and assembly costs from lowrangeoffroad in the states $$$ can creep way past what 90% of sierra owners are willing to spend on there cars.

Just swap the flanges on the transfer cases over.
make sure you get the later 1ltr case with the 4wd light switch same as your current one. It may also have a rear handbrake drum on the 1ltr case that comes off easy and you just bolt your wt flange to it

1L is a great option. Another budget gearing option for a beachwork zook is vitara front diff gears

i had 31x10's on my GTI powered NT and that was great. looked like a freaking rollerskate. i did have to chop the sides of the front bumper so match the arc of the tyre but apart from that i never had issues and the power of the GTI (about twice the power of the stocker) had more than enough to propel me well over the 110kmh mark, WAY over... i never did any full flex driving so not sure if i would have got wheels touching body somewhere but used to use it as a jetski tow car so did loads of up and over river banks and beach crossings etc. one thing i did notice tho with the much heavier/larger tyres was it was much slower and suffered on the road, i ended up going back to some 215/80 i think it was but currently have 225/80/15's and these are just perfect for me and how i drive it.
