Hey guys Just wondering what the 1.6lt is like at towing? I have a tinny and when loaded up would weigh around 400kg including trailer. Cheers Tom |

You don't say what version (8valve carby, or 16valve efi, auto (3 or 4spd) or manual, SWB or 5door wagon) of Vitara you have, but, 400kg of occasional towing should be fine as long as ball weight is ok, larger stopping distances are used, you don't have to go up stupid steep hills etc. Rgs, Michael |

I towed a 600kg trailer around Australia with a 1.3 jinny and cruised at 110 most of the time. Just check your models specs for when trailer brakes are needed, jimnys need trailer brakes over 350kg my car stops better when towing then when it isn't due to the 10" electric drums on my trailer |
