Hi every one. So i'm about to burn this car but more on that later haha. My indicators don't work. I have had this problem ever since I got it about 2 years ago but I never drive it so hasn't been a big deal. If you turn the indicators on sometimes it takes a bit and it will come on and stay lit or they work perfectly or sometimes nothing at all. Now the hazard lights are doing it as well. At the moment no blinkers at all but the hazards come on and say lit. no blinking.
At first I thought it could be the relay but if they light up it must have power. I have looked all through the car for a flasher barrel and had no luck finding it all. All the fuses seem ok. I thought it might be because of an led bulb so I took that out today and replaced it with a halogen. I'm lost at why they aren't working..
Any tips at all on what to check or change would be great. Off camping tomorrow after a very long restoration and really hoping I can fix everything in time. Probs not but lets try aha. Thanks guys.

Where is the flasher tho ? It's not the three prong relay under the dash mounted to the fuses ? That i'm told is just a relay. So where is the part that makes it flash ?

so when you turn the ignition on and turn on the indicator. either side it stays lit, then won't come back on when you turn it off. Turning the key on and off will make it turn on again but only one side. And the relay under the dash is clicking for both sides when and if they actually turn on. So what could it be ? Where is the flasher that makes them actually flash ? Thanks

Most relays have two connections for the coil, and either two or three more for the contacts - three "prongs" sounds more like the flasher, which whilst it is often called a relay, is really not.

Its the thing under the dash that has three wires out of it. Little black relay looking thing. Yellow, green and black wires which is the colours for the indicators. But every one is telling me that is just a relay and doesn't make it flash. But digging through the car thats all i can find. So maybe that is a flasher after all. And if it's broken then that would explain why it only works some times and not others. Maybe i should take it out and check it with a new one.

If the indicators have LED lamps in them then you need to get an LED flasher can or fit resistors. Flasher cans for LED are red and much easier.
