I washed my engine bay after going out for a wheel last week and ever since when i drive about 35km/h my car makes a whirring noise even if im not accelerating or just rolling.
I wash the bay by lightly spraying down and the spraying degreaser on the problem dirty areas. Anyone know what has happened?

Thanks in advance

Is there a way to check it without taking the diff fluid out?

Open the diff filler (rather than the drain) plug and stick your finger in... Of the oil on your finger is clean then all good.. If it's a milky colour then you've got water in the diff

If the diff's are OK, disconnect the speedo cable from the box and go for a drive.
