Hey guys, new to posting but long time lurker. I do scrap with my dad and we picked up two peugeot xud diesels. Complete cars and running. From a few hours research i found the Santana Samurai built in spain had an xud9. I was wondering what gearboxes they used as i have a sj410 and sj413 that i want to convert one to diesel using one of the gearboxes. Anyone had experience or knowledge to share.

I thought the diesel Sierra was 1.5l Renault powered, and it was the Vitara that ran the XUD?
In any case, The diesel Sierra gearbox life was very short, typically 70k.

The spanish one is XUD and my main question being.. are the gearboxes different or will they bolt up? I am taking the motors out anyway but was hoping there was some knowledge on the matter. Thanks guys

I'm a little bit late, but... Santana used to put either XUD or DW8 engines.
And european Vitaras went with DW10 engines, got a couple at my place.
Japaneese ones used RFT diesel engines.

Now it's time to refresh diesel gearbox on Sammy, so searching if any differences between petrol or diesel synchronisers.
Thanks to any info.
