Most people just buy the kits as it's not worth the time on the lathe spinning up all the blocks, and custom length bolts. Also body mount bolts can tend to sieze up and become almost impossible to remove which is always fun

G'day, got my hands on an 89 Vit and looking to do a body lift (and suspension) Read that 50-60mm diameter Delrin rod is the go, so anyone have any advice on the best way to go about it? Do you have access to a lathe to make the required socket bolts? You'll also need to check the legal requirements in your state. Only metal body lift blocks are legal in some states. It may be much less hassle to buy one ready to install. |

Thanks, yes I have access to a lathe. This is going to be a bush-only rig, trailered around, non registered. I'm in the NT. I also thought of nylon rod, inside 50MM steel pipe. Would just like some advice on doing the job....cheers |

Sorry to butt into the thread but just out of curiosity are there any other things that you need to look out for when doing body lifts on vitaras? I've got an 89 SWB and thinking of going the same but perhaps just 30 mm. Did one myself on a lux and there were a few issues with steering shaft, fuel filler and a couple other things but not sure if I'll have the same dramas with the Zook it looks like there's much more room to play |

Fuel filler: long enough for 50mm just loosen and reclamp after lift. Steering: xoes not really move but should loosen and do up again when finished. Thats it really. Aside from bumpers which need changing or lesving off as they attatch to body and chassis |

Thanks for that info frak. I'll just have to lift it and measure sizes then. Was hoping someone could say; so many at this size and diameter, and this many at that size and bolts required, etc;, but all good, I'll muddle through it. |

Suzuki have studs that need to be extended. Cutting out the stud and using a bolt is a bad idea. |
