Post subject:  Sierra on 33s with no guard chop?

Hey guys,

I understand that the guard chop is the best way to go about getting 33s on a Sierra. However, will a 2" body lift make it possible without any chopping, maybe just some hammering??

Thanks in advance.

Got 33" on my little play car with 2" body and 2" lifted springs and had to chop the front.

Bodylift + hammer
They fit easy, offset and tyre width is critical to get them on with minimal work. May also be necessary to redrill your diff spring perches to bring the diff forward 20mm away from the firewall depanding on your spring length

Even with a 2" body lift, it's likely you'll need some massaging of the guards to achieve full lock/travel.

This is 31's with 2" body lift and guards massaged.

Yup only in the front, the rear tucks right up no dramas.
To be honest i could probably reduce the front bumps a bit they are only there as a buffer to stop the shocks bottoming however ive found them nice on steep inclines as the car just sits hard on them and doesnt bounce around

I love Facebook. Apparently, regardless of how tall you've made your car it's:

A) Just as stable as stock

B) More stable than stock

C) If you roll it you can't drive

D) It's fine if you're a good driver

E) It's fine once you get used to it

F) All of the above

Haha a good way to make your car less capable than stock

But now you can go mud bogging and contemplate putting a V8 in it because of all the extra space for the sump!

There is no way they are 33's?

I remember when I bought my first sierra I nearly bought a poser spec sierra with a 6 inch on 37's.....I still thought the car was too tall for the tyres! Maybe they are 33's

What's the reasoning behind not cutting guards?

Thanks for the input guys! I'm all good with a bit of hammer work, I just don't have the skills or time to be cutting and welding; she's been off the road for too long and I just wanna start wheeling it again haha
