Just throwing it out there as I have no idea what it is either. Possibly trace the wires from the other ones to see where they go and it may give you some idea what it's meant to do?

How do I put photos in properly ?
Is it worth fixing / getting a new one ?
The motor isn't in the car yet. So I don't know if it will run without it.
Thanks for your help guys.

Its called a duty solenoid and its part of the emissions control for the purge canister. we dont live in california so its not imperitive to have it connected although now and again you may notice a very "fuelly" smell if it isnt connected.

as far as how the engine runs it doesnt affect how it runs or performs , the ecu doesnt know if it is working or not so it gives no fucks for emission control.
