Hi Guys,
My Car is currently a rolling chassis w/ no motor of body attached.
Can I do the RUF mod now, or should I wait until the cars built so resting height ect can be factored in?
My understanding is that you do the chassis lengthen based on shackle angle, and no other variable?
I hope this makes sense?
Thanks,
Chris

True but depends on the length of the rear springs you are putting in it as that will change your shackle angle as well

You don't need to wait. Strip a spring to just the main leaf and cycle the suspension to set shackle location.
The variables are length of spring and position of bumpstop. Ride height isn't a factor. You'll trim the leaves in the pack to set ride height where you want it.

It might not mean you can start the RUF though - I'm not sure if you have your tyres or not but with no body on the car and no tyres, you won't be able to set bumpstop position because you won't know where you're going have to cut. If you set the car up on stock bumpstop locations and then need to space them* once the tyres are on, you'll be giving up potential droop. Likewise if you set the car up with say 30mm of bumpstop spacer and find out it wasn't necessary, you're loosing compression, and the car will sit higher on the obstacle than it needed to, to the deficit of stability.
*obviously there are some hard limits. Brake pedal clearance and the position of the headlights are what I consider "hard limits" - obviously pinching the nose can assist with headlight clearance, but it's a lot of work to go to.
