Hi Everyone,
The heater/aircon fan on my 2009 grand Vitara has stopped working. When I crank up the fan speed in the climate control nothing happens. I've replaced the resistor recently but no joy, so I'm assuming it's the blower itself? Does anyone have any experience trouble shooting these and if I need a new blower and advice as to a cost effective option?

Yes you need a new blower fan , thats what blew the original resistor. If you take the fan out you will find its very stiff to turn. Suzuki want ridiculous money for the fan and even wreckers ask $200 ish.

The resister has a thermal overload that blows when it reaches 131 degrees it reaches this temp because the fan is drawing too much current.

I do repairs on the resistors but the fan is too painful to repair.
