Gday peeps, Been awhile since I have last been here, but once again in the market for a Suzuki .. upgrading family car  Looking at a Suzuki GV 2009 1.9ltr Turbo Diesel JB model (unsure of build date) manual .. with 167K on her. Question being, any known issues engine wise? They are asking 9.5k and shes never been off road. Just want a reliable family car with the occasional easy camping trip. They're pretty expensive engine to own once the km's get up there-Do some research and go in with your eyes open. |

Never heard a good thing about them especially when compared to the v6 alternatives |

Biggest thing is service history, with those km's thats 2 timing belt changes that should've been carried out. If its a city car and hasn't been used alot on the open road the particle filter may be an issue. I like mine , does what I need. |

Hmmm so no good then ? :-/ .. Had a look today, services have been done by Suzi and two timing belts done. So fairly good service history log! However worried now from what I've heard. What would be rough going rate for Suzi in that state? .. Or suggestions on alternative Suzi if not theJB.. prefer a 4 cylinder. Not many suzi's for sale :-/ |

I think the 4cyl is underpowered for the 4dr and they are not without issues either. If its economy your worried about i think an extra 2-3ltrs per 100km is worth it for an engine with superior performance and reliability. No point saving a few bucks on fuel and spending thousands because you brought a dud motor. |

The diesel is the same power as the 2L but 30% more torque. There are also a few low k's V6 in the JB around the same price, most power of the three less torque than the diesel marginally thirstier than the 2?. But seems like they become problematic around 200k. |

I tow with my diesel everyday, and would never have the thirsty v6 again. The torque is great, even tows the new 1.2 tonne camper trailer very well where the v6 I had before would absolutely hate it and cost almost double in fuel. |

The repair bill ive heard a few cop from the local suzuki mechanics would have you light a match and buy a new car before you thought about persisting |
