Hi guys,
So I have an old Sierra that has been fitted with an oil catch can by the previous owner.
I understand how these are supposed to work and the (claimed) benefits etc, but here is my issue.

I have been seeing a little bit of minor smoke/steam coming from that area as I drive. I thought there may be some gunk build up that is heating up and smoking from the catch can, so I just went out to drain it and almost filled a beer can with what came out - Probably 300ml of oil (although it was pretty clean still).

Everywhere I have looked I've never really seen them drain like this, but wondering what others have seen or experienced?
Is it normal to drain so much and see barely any black stuff? I thought these were only meant to catch the rubbish?

When was the last time you drained it? The amount of oil over time is the crucial factor, here.
