I know there is many many many threads out there and read alot of them already. However looking to upgrade engine in mighty sierra, most common is g16b as its pretty much bolt in some wiring and happyness. However they are getting to be an older motor and getting less common. They question i have is there something made this century that will bolt in pretty easy. Now i know nothing will bolt in and there will have to have some creation to make it work. I dont want to spend a crazy amount to make it work, working at a wrecking yard i have access or least contacts to get engines wiring etc etc. Ideally talk to someone who has done it before. I am not looking for a crazy engine swap or anything like that just after something newer.

M13/15 is acheivable using only bolt on parts/mounts.
Suzistore have done a couple

Short answer- G16b

Long answer- sure- have a crack at an M motor. It can (and has) been done, but there's more to a engine conversion than how new it is. Like gearbox. And immobiliser. And stuff.

Another thread that Photobucket fucked, but it will still give you some idea of what's required for one of the M series conversions. Each one is a little bit different remember....

Same if not more effort than g16b for what will feel like half the power. Theres a stack of sub 150,xxx km balenos with stuffed manual boxes in wa not sure about your part of the world but any efi motor swap is going to require $$$ to get it going. Id budget 3k to get a decent g16b motor in and running with a new clutch/seals/fuel pump/ect...

Why on earth would you aftermarket inject a g16A? They're rare and far too expensive (and the worst motor Suzuki has made)

G16B baleno, and gearbox in order of desirability:
Adapter and sierra gearbox
Vitara manual
Trimatic
Aw-4

Wait. Hang on a minute....
Who is this guy and what has he done with Gwagonsteve?

The real Gwagon would never put an AW-4 at the bottom of his gearbox list.... ;)

Oh, yes, that wasn't clear. Input them in order from least to most desirable. Ha!

How "hard" is the traumatic compared to AW4?

Much easier- it's shorter, obviously only requires vacuum, TV, reverse lights and start inhibitor connected.

However, they're very difficult to gear for on road use (and even harder for on and off road use)
