Just picked up a set of 4 245/75/16 cooper s/t tyres dirt cheap (too cheap to pass up even if they don't fit lol) and was just wondering if I'll have any clearance issues on a stock 96 v6 lwb Vitara before I fork out the money to get them put on my rims.
Thanks in advance

Hi There,
That tyre size works out to be a close enough metric equivalent of 30/9.5R15 (obviously a 16" rim, rather than 15" - factory Vitara rims are 15", so you must have aftermarket or GV rims).
They will fit without doing a body lift, but some cutting required - typically front of the rear arch & back of the front arch.
Might also have to adjust the steering lock stops to clear the chassis when on full lock.
Worthwhile tyre size - plenty of options available when this set wares out.
Will through out the speedo reading & if you car is an auto, might drop out of O/D at the whiff of a hill.

Look a little more closely, he has a V6 Vitara (SV620) those were 16" rims from the factory, 15" rims won't clear the front brakes - they also have a fair bit of plastic trim around the wheel arches which potentially can be problematic.

Personally I think they will foul without a lift, my nephew drives an SV620 and whilst I'm not 100% sure on the tire size he's running, it's smaller than a 245/75, and he has issues with the rear fouling when loaded and off road.
