Hi Guys, just started to look into my SJ51 an my front left axil is busted. Just want to no the best replacement axils an where to get them. I’ll be running 33’ tyres so was thinking I’ll need to go better than standard. Cheers |

Chromo axles from LROR are the go. Probably other places you get them but these are good http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/suzuki-o ... p-rcv.html However!!! They are 26 spline axles which is good because they’re stronger but they don’t fit the standard 22 spline front diff. The way around that is to A: find a second rear diff and install it in the front, or B: install an air locker (or other type of appropriate locker unit, unsure which ones will or won’t work for this purpose) in the rear using the ring and pinions from the front diff and put the rear in the front |

Is an SJ51 wise track or narrow track? |

Depends on the SJ51. I have a WT SJ51, but it is a bit of a unicorn. Were there NT 1.0L lwb stylesides as well? Would these be SJ51, or not, considering they're lwb, so the 1 makes sense, but sj50 was post-1.0L I thought? |

Its probably the rarer SJ51 WT LWB, g13a etc. |

1.0 stylesides are SJ40 or MG410 88 could be WT. 88 sierras were all sj50’s regardless of track width IIRC. |

So my Ute is a Jan 1988 wide track with a G13A motor. Compliance plate says SJ51 |

Oh ok so the wide track diffs are already a 26 spline axil then...? |

I don't believe so. The difference is in width (axle length) between wt and nt. (Though the spline may be different too) The 26 spline axles still need a changed diff centre in the front, because the front is only a 22 spline centre. The rear is a 26 spline though, so as suggested by bumstein you could fit a rear centre to the front. |
