front diff different to back diff

got my diffs back from mcnamara diffs and he seemed to think that there was a front and rear diff
they both look the same to me and they fitted ok
the manual says nothing on the differeneces as far as i can tell

Front diff uses 22 spline axles. Rear axle has 26 spline axles. Otherwise they’re basically the same.

Yeah for Stockman LJ80s, 100% identical aside from the spline cut into the side gear.

Earlier LJ80s had 22 spline rear axles so the sidegears were the same.
