i've been trying to work out why none of the carb kits fit my carb
the signs were there - slightly wrong shape of the gasket, different float
then i looked closely and it says aisin, which was standard on SJ410 for a F10A
so - that looks like the legit carb is a solex (copy?)
have i got the story right and can i leave the carb?

Pics?

The F10a carb has a fuel cut solenoid and the LJ80 one doesn't.

Yes the F10a carb will work. They're easy to change jets on if you need too. They're both 32mm diameter throttles.

The mounting studs are much wider on the F10a carb. The manifolds are different but only in the mounting of the carb.

F8a carbs after 1981 (on Carry vans) are the same as F10a carbs with the wider spacing. So if you're buying new then take caution. I don't think there's any new LJ80 style F8a carbs for sale.

just the cable bracket looks a bit different

when you say "mounting studs", you mean the tow bolts to mount the carb to the manifold?
PS is that yellow LJ in your avatar your car?

Yeah the studs that mount the carb are further apart on the F10a.

Yes that LJ80v is mine, it's beige but I've got a yellow one too!
