Hey everyone, recently purchased a second hand ARB air locker for the rear of my 1988 SJ50 sierra. Does anyone have any steps for installation, stuff to watch out for or general advice before i begin? much appreciated
TBH it’s a job left for a workshop unless you are fairly experienced mechanically, own a torque wrench, dial gauge and can make basic tools. I’ve seen enough gearsets damaged from poor setup to not recommend this as a DIY job.

Concur..
I’ve looked into doing this before and the more I looked into it the more I realised it’s a job best left to the diff guys.
ARB retailer in my corner of the world don’t install them in their workshop, they walk the diff pumpkin over the road to the diff guys and then charge a little on top of the price.
In fact!!! I’ve just ordered a set and the bloke I was speaking to is a mechanic by trade and STILL gets the diff guys to install his. That means it definately isn’t a job for me or the average home tinkerer
If you’re still keen to bodge it up yourself then google it. ARB have an installation guide on their website.
